How to Choose the Best Floor Plan for Your Family

When you’re looking through various home builder floor plans, it can be hard to choose just the right floor plan for your family. We offer a range of floor plans and are always happy to help you narrow down your choices, but ultimately, you know your family and family lifestyle best, so here are some tips to help you make sure you build the perfect home that will make everyone happy.

First off, you should take our Floor Plan Quiz. After a series of short, fun questions, we’ll suggest some floor plans for you. You can get an individual result without signing up, or you can sign up and let us email you your results. You can then contact us to discuss these options and make an appointment to go into further detail, as well as consider certain changes that could make a plan perfect for you.

Of course, you should also look through all of our various floor plans, keeping in mind the number of bedrooms you must have, the number of bathrooms you realistically need to keep everyone happy, as well as any other specifics, such as a dedicated home office, space for a home gym, a game room for the kids, a ranch or two-story home, and an owner’s suite on the main floor or upstairs. Be sure you know the absolute basics before you start looking, so you can easily put aside any that don’t fit your criteria. It will speed up the search process.

Of course, you also need to know your budget so that you can understand what you can afford. That home office may need to double as a guest room on occasion, or perhaps you’ll find that you do have room in the budget for a fantastic covered back patio with plenty of room to entertain.

Speaking of entertaining, this is where you need to think about your family’s regular lifestyle. Things may have been a little different recently, but ideally, how do you typically use your home. Are your kids’ friends over all the time? Then that bonus room/game room may be important, especially if someone in the family is working from home and needs some quiet and privacy. If you regularly have friends over for dinner, you may want a separate, more formal dining room, or you may prefer a larger open-plan dining area connecting the kitchen and family room, so that you’re never out of the action. If you like to bake, you’ll probably want a kitchen with plenty of counter space. These are the kind of smaller details to keep in mind. From home gyms to dedicated music rooms, you need to find a floor plan that can accommodate your daily needs, as well as those things that make life happy for you all. Knowing what you want and what you need in a home makes it easier when you start working with an experienced home builder like LifeStyle Home Builders, because it helps us fine tune a floor plan to meet as many of those factors as possible.

So make your list, discuss it with the whole family to get their input, take our quiz and be sure to try out our interactive floor plans. They’ll also give you a sense of what the various floor plans feel like and how they flow. We think you’ll find that any number of our homes will meet your needs, so contact us today to help you explore the best Lifestyle home builder floor plans for you and your family.
