Floor Plan Profile: Florence
We love our Florence floor plan and think you will, too. This home is ideal for multi-generational living, which is a lifestyle that has quadrupled in the last 50 years. The Florence floor plan provides the autonomy that is important with multiple generations living under one room, but offers the flexibility so that the space can still be used by a single family. It will appeal to a variety of people looking at homes in Hanover VA and the surrounding area.
Our Florence floor plan has five bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a 2-3-car garage, and 3,608 square feet. This two-story home has the option of a basement level, and there are four exteriors from which to choose. The primary suite is upstairs with the majority of the bedrooms.
However, on the first floor, there is a generational suite, ideal for elderly relatives thanks to the main-floor location, but it is also excellent for adult children, including a young family potentially saving for their own home. The suite includes its own living room, bedroom, walk-in closet, additional closet for storage, and a full bathroom. There is also outdoor access, letting the suite serve as a private apartment. There is still access to the main home, so even if the suite were not needed for family, it could be used as a home office, and is ideal for a small business that needs space. It could just as easily be used as a game or media room, a home gym, or any variety of uses, providing flexibility and adaptability.
The rest of the first floor is spacious and features layout elements that are in demand these days. You enter from a covered front porch with room for seating into a spacious, well-lit foyer, complete with a coat closet and access to a powder room. Just off the foyer is also a useful mudroom that connects to the garage. On the other side of the entry foyer is a large study, another ideal spot for a home office or a book-lover’s library.
Just past the stairs to the upper level is the open-plan layout with a large family room (and the access to the generational suite), and a spacious kitchen complete with island, pantry, and extensive counter space. Extending from the kitchen is the morning space, ideal for dining, while having additional space free. The morning space also leads onto the back patio area.
The second floor contains the rest of the bedrooms, as well as the laundry room. The primary suite is located in the back of the home, complete with a spa-like bathroom that includes a separate shower and bathtub. There’s also an incredibly large walk-in closet. In the front of the home are two additional bedrooms, one of which has a smaller walk-in closet, while the other has a traditional built-in closet. These two bedrooms share the use of a full bathroom.
