Tips for Touring a Model Home
Whether you’re planning to build your own home or move into a newly built home, it’s a good idea to start with some model home visits. If you’re wondering, “where are the model homes near me?”, you’re in luck, as we have model homes in Mosely, Chesterfield, and Hanover. Before visiting any model home, it’s useful to have some specific plans and questions to help you get the most out of the visit.
Before you start your house hunt, it’s important to have a clear idea of what you need in your new home. List all of the things you absolutely must have, but be sure to include things that you would really like in a home, but could live without if necessary. Visiting a model home gives you an opportunity to see the flexibility of specific floor plans, but agents on site can also show you other floor plans that may work better based on your specific needs. The clearer you are in your needs from the start, the faster and easier it is for agents to help you find what you want.
Our model homes show the flexibility we offer in all of our floor plans. You’ll typically find space that can be dedicated to a variety of purposes, depending on your needs. Guest rooms, home offices, home schools, media rooms, and more can be easily accommodated with our thoughtfully designed floor plans.
When you do visit a model home, be sure to take photos and notes, especially of features that you particularly like, whether it’s the layout or the decor. Model homes are great inspiration for how to use the space, as well as how to incorporate the latest design trends. When you work with us, you also have access to our exceptional design studio to help you incorporate some of those design elements with your existing furniture.
Most importantly, be sure to ask plenty of questions. Our agents are always happy to answer them. Some features you’ll see in the model homes come standard, while others are additions, so it’s helpful to understand your options, especially when it comes to your budget. By asking questions and having a list of the most important elements for your new home, you’ll be in a better position to see if one of the model homes is the floor plan you want or if one of our other floor plans might be better. If you want to build from scratch or want to add in more of your own finishes to a home in progress, we’re happy to answer questions about the building process and warranties, as well. Use this visit to get as much information as possible to better help you make your decision.
