Build Your Dream Home with Our Interactive Floor Plan

Is there anything you can’t do online these days? It’s been handy these past few years, but there’s also something nice about being able to do things on your schedule, rather than having to juggle everyone’s schedule to make appointments, especially when it comes to searching for homes in Chesterfield VA. While we’re always here to help you with answers to your questions and model home tours and anything else, we also know that you have your own busy lives to lead, so we’ve added more interactive floor plans to our site and other interactive tools to help you put together your dream home before even contacting us.

Of course, you don’t have to do it all yourself. We are here to help, but the interactive plans give you a sense of if a home plan is right for you, based on your needs, not to mention existing furniture. While you may be buying a brand new home, most people are bringing existing furniture with them and it’s important to know if it will fit or what else you may need or want to change. Our interactive plans give you a headstart that also helps us when you do make an  appointment with us. We can see your ideas and have a better sense of what you’re looking for in a new home. We may be able to make suggestions that you might not have thought of yet.

Take our Hampshire floor plan, for example. This is a great two-story home with four to five bedrooms, 2.5-4.5 bathrooms, a two-car garage, and 3,536 square feet, ensuring plenty of space!

As you look at the floor plan, you’ll see listings for First Floor, Second Floor, Optional Basement, and Exteriors. Even before you get inside the home, you can choose from four exterior options that can really make a difference in how your home looks, preventing the cookie cutter look that some people worry about in new home communities. With all of the options available, there’s little risk of that!

The first floor basic floor plan shows you the great layout, including that all-important den for the home office these days. However, as you look to the right of the floor plan, you’ll see all of the standard options, so the den could have double doors and extra windows for more light and a grander entrance, especially if you occasionally have clients over. Throughout the first floor, which includes the owner’s suite, an increasingly popular choice, you’ll find options for fireplaces, tray ceilings, various dream bathroom setups, mudrooms, and even back decks of different sizes, covered and uncovered, depending on your preference.

The second floor shows the great layout of the rest of the bedrooms, not to mention the inclusion of a rec room. There’s also a space that you can choose to use for storage or you can turn it into an additional bedroom. There’s also the option to create an ensuite bathroom in one of the bedrooms, among other features.

If storage is important, or if you want more living space, the optional basement is an amazing feature. You can keep it simple as a crawl space or you can have it turned into a proper basement, with the option of keeping it fairly simple for just storage, or you can even have it finished for additional living space. You could even have an additional bedroom and bathroom added, which further adds to your options in how you use your home.

That’s just the basic floor plan. There’s a section for components ranging from outlets to ceiling fans and more. If you know how you want to arrange a room and use it, you can choose where the outlets go to give you the most functionality. There’s also a section for choosing controls and security, including intercoms and cameras, and even miscellaneous features like utility sinks, hose bibs, central vacuum system and more.

Best of all, you can explore the furniture layout. Click on furniture and  it gives you options for the bedrooms and den, as well as the living room and dining room, the kitchen, and even takes into account accessibility for family members in wheelchairs. You can even decide where you want to put plants! The design choices don’t end indoors. You can layout the garage and backyard and back deck to understand how you can use every inch of this home.

Once you have it all arranged, you can save it, you can flip designs vertically and horizontally, you can reset to start over, you can draw in features, and include notes, and you can view it full-screen for ease of use.

You don’t have to choose everything before you come in, but by using the interactive features, you can get a sense of whether a floor plan will work for you and your needs. When you have the basics in mind, we can help you understand if they fit your budget or if another floor plan could be altered to better fit your lifestyle. Or, we’ll take your plans and turn them into your dream home. So if you’re looking at homes in Chesterfield VA, look at our interactive floor plans and give us a call to discuss how our options can be used to create your perfect home.
