Now that you have purchased one of our new homes in Chesterfield VA, you can utilize our award-winning design studio and design experience to turn your desired floor plan into a home that represents you and your lifestyle. With your own choices in colors, textures, finishes, and more, your home truly becomes a unique and special place.

Our design studio is intentionally designed to invoke the comfort of being at home. We want you to see all of the ways that we can help you create a design that is comfortable and stylish and completely you. We include curated vignettes to make it easy for you to see various pieces together to give you fresh ideas and inspiration. When you’re faced with walls and racks of choices, it can be overwhelming, so these little displays of how you can decorate various rooms provide much needed relief if you’re starting to feel overwhelmed with choice.

Our design specialists can also put together some vignettes for you, based on any previous design info you’ve provided. It always helps to do some research before you come to the design studio. Scan websites like Houzz and Pinterest and put the latter to good use, pinning ideas for each and every room. You don’t have to narrow your boards down to specifics. By letting us see what you gravitate toward, we can help you find the same or similar items, or complementary items that you may not have considered but end up loving.

The flow of the studio takes you through steps of selections (ie. exterior, kitchen, bathroom, lighting, etc.), and the actual flooring in the studio transitions through multiple available flooring options so you can see what they look like in person and on a larger scale than just a few boards or tiles.

We take every element of the design process seriously and insist on quality craftsmanship. You’ll see it in the work of every studio trade partner we work with, and as you go through the studio, starting from the waiting room, you’ll see how these elements can be incorporated into a variety of rooms and layouts.

A big perk for dog lovers is the likely opportunity to meet our company mascot, Bevel. Even if you’re not a dog person, you’ll find stickers of Bevel throughout the studio, marking items as “included features” to help you easily identify selections that are included in the base pricing, which is always nice to see.

Another perk comes from our kitchen vignettes. Each one is functional and typically offers a variety of refreshments to help keep you hydrated and fed as you go through the design process. It’s much easier to think clearly when you’re not hungry!

Typically, the design process takes two meetings, usually held with Lori McNulty, our dedicated design studio manager. She loves her work and is excellent at helping you put your personal touch on your new home. She’s there to walk you through the variety of selections and fine tune your choices. Then, typically within three days of your second meeting with Lori, you’ll receive your final documentation with pricing of your personal selections for you to then alter or accept, putting you one step further to having a home that truly represents you and your lifestyle.
