Thanksgiving Centerpieces for a Beautiful Table

You’ve moved into one of the new LifeStyle homes in Chesterfield VA and it’s time to celebrate Thanksgiving. Since you’re in a new home, maybe it’s time for a new Thanksgiving centerpiece for your table this year. With some easy ideas and a bit of DIY, you can have a fantastic centerpiece that complements your holiday table.

If you’re looking for something pared back this year that is simple but still stylish, think rustic. A rough-hewn wooden bowl filled with a mixture of red and orange fruits is colorful and harkens back to the rustic nature of the first Thanksgiving. Add in some delicate green leaves or even a mix of fresh herb stalks for the finishing touch.

Another option is to skip the bowl and let the fresh fruit and vegetables serve as your table runner. Large green leaves spread the length of the table, topped with an assortment of small, colorful gourds and apples in green and red are an easy way to add color along the whole table, while leaving room for serving bowls, as the gourds and fruit can be scattered around the serving dishes, as well.

A similar option is to use red apples, eucalyptus leaves (or similar silk leaves if the scent is too much), and white candles in alternating sizes. Run a piece of burlap the length of the table as a runner and scatter the eucalyptus leaves along the burlap and alternate candles and apples for a simple but pretty display.

If you want to add some glamour to your table, though, why not have some fun and break out some elegant black candle holders with white taper candles and use gold-colored pumpkins for your centerpiece arrangement. The sleek dark lines of the candlesticks stop the metallic gold pumpkins from going overboard. You can buy decorative gold-colored pumpkins, or in a pinch, you could break out the gold spray paint (and maybe some glitter?) and decorate some real pumpkins.

For a clean, colorful Thanksgiving table, look for a muted orange linen tablecloth and let your centerpiece be a white bowl vase filled with greenery and oranges, flanked by white taper candles in simple gold candle holders. Use white plates, and place fresh oranges, preferable with leaves intact, at each place setting, creating an elegant but colorful display.

Finally, consider getting the kids involved. Have them cut out a variety of leaf shapes and sizes from construction paper in red, orange, and yellow; the more the better. The more you have the more you can pile them up along the length of the table, like a beautiful collection of fall leaves. Put a pen or pencil at each place setting and let everyone write down things they are thankful for on the leaves.

Go all out with fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, grab some branches and leaves from outside, go glam with gold and glittery decorations and big flower displays in autumn colors, or simply let the food be the star of the table. From simple to spectacular, the Thanksgiving tables in your homes in Chesterfield VA will look wonderful, especially with your loved ones surrounding the table. Happy Thanksgiving from LifeStyle Home Builders!
