Employee Highlight: Say hi to Tara!
As a home builder in Chesterfield VA, all of our employees are important to us. After all, each person plays a vital role in ensuring your finished home meets or exceeds your expectations. While there are some you may get to know throughout the process, there are also those working behind the scenes to make your new home dream a reality. This month we’d like to help you get to know Tara Hartso, one of our field managers whom you might get to know, but who also does a lot you may not know.
Tara has been with LifeStyle Home Builders for four years now, and was named our Employee of the Year in 2024, so you know you’re in good hands! As a field manager, she works closely with clients to help make their dream home a reality, but she’s also busy coordinating construction schedules, overseeing the ordering of materials, and making sure the job sites are clean and organized to ensure a safe and solid build.
She has worked as a restaurant manager in the past, giving her plenty of experience overseeing multiple teams and looking out for the customer. However, she also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Design, and Urban Planning from Virginia Tech, so she has a great background and experience for work as a field manager.
A typical day is a busy day for Tara. “I start early, checking each home for completed trade work, scheduling upcoming work, and following up on material drops. I also check in and update homeowners on building progress.” Those updates are important, to help clients understand the process. It’s no surprise that among her most frequent questions are “How long will construction take?” and “When is my closing date?” With all that she does, both clients and coworkers are also likely to ask, “how do you keep up with everything?!”
When Tara isn’t putting in all of that hard work, she likes to relax while watching the Bravo Housewives franchise and other reality TV. However, you’re also likely to find her donating her time and money to various charities, from stocking food banks and helping feed the homeless to donating toys, books and more to Children’s Hospital and St. Jude’s Hospital.
That care and concern for others extends to her work. “I love the people I work with, and I love our clients and helping them build their dream home. I also love seeing a home built from the ground up.”
As a home builder in Chesterfield VA, we’re glad her passion for design and home construction has an outlet with us, ensuring our clients have a positive experience and get the home of their dreams. Her positive outlook helps, too. “I just love life and am blessed to be able to give 110% every day!”
